“We all Need Safe Places to Walk and Ride a Bike”
In 2019, leveraging our partnership with Greenville County to build the Lakeview Link to the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail, we had the unique opportunity to develop a public art project. The bronze sculpture of a confident young girl on her strider bike was done by the talented artist Charles Pate Jr. The steel bike and platform was fabricated by Ryan Calloway. The granite foundation was provided by Gillespie Marble & Granite Works. This message summarizes our advocacy and has great presence at MM 29.7 of the SRT. Bike Walk Greenville privately raised the money for this public art and has donated it to Greenville County.
The public art statue by artist Charles Pate Jr was installed on December 3, 2019
