Bike Walk Greenville puts donations to work, making an active change in Greenville County
We are committed to engaging with local community to amplify the voices of under-represented groups and advocate for change in Greenville County, South Carolina. Bike Walk Greenville harnesses the skills and interests of our volunteers to make meaningful progress toward our vision of safe streets and connected communities. To maximize our impact, we connect with existing groups including neighborhood associations, partner nonprofits and churches to facilitate local projects.
Community Education
Our volunteers implement community outreach and education efforts to identify and address barriers to active transportation.
- Walk Audits with local neighborhood groups and partner nonprofits highlight opportunities for short-term and long-term infrastructure changes that can improve pedestrian safety
- Community Read events take a deep dive into topics to develop a better understanding of the opportunities, obstacles and methods involved in improving our existing transportation infrastructure
- Presentations with partner organizations and local government share information and build coalitions of support for active transportation initiatives.
Trail Counters
Bike Walk Greenville successfully fundraised for the installation of two trail counter displays on the Swamp Rabbit Trail Network. Through community donations and partnerships with the City of Greenville and the City of Travelers Rest, Bike Walk Greenville is proud to highlight the success of trail infrastructure with data driven advocacy.
Community Events
Community events include bike valets at local festivals and events — iMAGINE Upstate, Artisphere, Fall for Greenville, Bicycle Film Festival, and more. Bike Walk Greenville also hosts quarterly Community Rolls and Strolls. These walks and rides feature new and existing infrastructure and wayfinding to help more people experience the community on foot or with wheels. Check out our calendar to join us at our next event!
Data and Analytics
Our powerhouse Data Analytics Team of volunteers does incredible work! Through their efforts, Bike Walk Greenville is able to review and analyze community data to build community tools to educate the public and illustrate the need for safer infrastructure for active transportation.
