Thanks to our board member Carl Anderson, we recently met with Dr. Trisalyn Nelson founder of bikemaps.org. We learned of her work first in Canada and now at the UC Santa Barbara as a professor of Geography. Her research shows that community engagement of people on foot and people and on bikes to anonymously report issues including collisions, near misses, hazards, and bike thefts are a great tool for local governments to address needed infrastructure improvements.
Bike Walk Greenville is starting a community engagement campaign to get input that can be easily entered on bikemaps.org and walkrollmap.org
