Who Owns the Roads?

Whether you’re a cyclist, a pedestrian, or a driver, roads are important for all of us. We’re here to decode road ownership in Greenville County so you can better understand road-related policies and effectively submit maintenance requests.

Vulnerable Road Users Map

This powerful, interactive Vulnerable Road User (VRU) crash map of Greenville County uses raw data from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety and provides a visual testament to the urgent need for systemic change on our streets. By moving beyond abstract statistics to highlight our most dangerous corridors, this tool serves as a powerful catalyst for our mission to advocate for safe streets and connected communities. It equips us with the empirical evidence needed to hold decision-makers accountable, shift policy, and target infrastructure investments where they are desperately needed. Ultimately, this map provides the data-driven roadmap to build a Greenville where everyone can travel safely, no matter how they choose to move.

Parking & Pavement Dashboard

Parking is a vital part of downtown access, but how we manage it determines the future of our streets. Our interactive dashboard tracks live availability and occupancy trends across downtown garages, often revealing that many spots remain empty even during busy periods. Currently, parking lots alone consume 16% of our downtown real estate. By using data to make the most of the parking we already have, we can stop devoting precious land to asphalt—which impacts land value, walkability, and economic resilience. Instead, we can prioritize space for people, local businesses, and safe, connected transportation for everyone.
